West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic feels beating Tottenham Hotspur at Upton Park this season "was special" for the Hammers.

In what is their final campaign at Upton Park before a summer move to the Olympic Stadium, West Ham are signing off from their home in style and could have European football to take to their new ground by the time the season ends.

Bilic's side currently sit sixth in the table, one point behind fifth placed Manchester United, with three games left to play; Manchester City are five in front of the Hammers, but West Ham have a game in hand.

There have been many memorable games for the Hammers this term, Bilic believes, but he made special mention of West Ham's 1-0 win over Spurs in early March.

"Beating Spurs at home was special. It is about the journey we have had. At the start we signed Dimitri Payet and other good players", Bilic said at West Ham's awards dinner this evening.

"When you ask me the highlights there are so many.

"We beat some big teams at the start", the Croatian added.

West Ham have two Premier League games remaining at Upton Park, with Swansea City providing the opposition for the first of them this coming Saturday.

And they bid farewell to the ground on Tuesday 10th May, when Louis van Gaal visits with his Manchester United side.
