Chelsea are struggling to reach an agreement over signing Radja Nainggolan, while Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain wait in the wings.

Incoming Blues boss Antonio Conte is a firm fan of the Roma midfielder and has asked his new employers to take the player to Stamford Bridge in time for the 2016/17 campaign.

But it is still not clear whether Chelsea can reach an agreement with Roma for Nainggolan.

Indeed, according to Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma want €45m for their midfield enforcer, while Chelsea are reluctant to spend over €30m on the Belgium international.

Roma may hold out hope that Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain decisively enter the race for the midfielder's signature, something which would force Chelsea's hand.

The midfielder, who has won 18 caps for Belgium at international level, joined Roma, initially on loan, from fellow Italian side Cagliari in 2014.

Nainggolan is a key man at the Stadio Olimpico and has made 40 appearances in all competitions for Roma this season, scoring five goals in the process.

The 28-year-old is locked down on a contract with the Italian giants until the summer of 2020.
