Several Italian clubs, headed by Parma, want to sign Leeds United striker Mirco Antenucci for next season, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Italian, whose present contract with the Whites is set to expire in the summer, was heavily linked with a move back to his homeland during the winter transfer window.

But Antenucci stayed put at Elland Road, with the forward scoring nine goals and providing six assists in 42 appearances in all competitions for the Championship outfit in the current campaign.

However, with the summer transfer window fast approaching, rumours about Antenucci’s proposed move back to Italy are once again on the rise.

Besides Parma, Palermo and Hellas Verona, who were also linked with the 31-year-old in January, are also keeping close tabs on the former Torino man.

It has been suggested that Parma have already made their interest in Antenucci known as they expect the player to quit Leeds after the Whites' final league game of the season against Preston North End at the weekend.

Antenucci, who joined Leeds from Ternana in 2014, has thus far amassed 79 appearances for the Yorkshire giants, scoring 19 times and setting up 10 goals.
