Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci has defended his performances at Elland Road, posting what he feels is evidence that the Whites perform better when he is in the side.

Bellusci has come under fire at points this season for a series of errors which have cost Leeds, while recently he slipped out of head coach Steve Evans' starting eleven, with the Scot preferring Liam Cooper and Sol Bamba.

But Bellusci is confident that when he plays Leeds do better and he took to social media to post statistics covering his time at Catania and Leeds and showing that he has a positive impact.

The defender also posted a crypic message beforehand, where he wrote: "Ignorance and ignore is the evil in the world!"

Bellusci is not a popular figure with some sections of the Leeds faithful and has courted controversy at points during his time at Elland Road.

He was the subject of interest from several sides in Italy in the winter transfer window, but Whites president Massimo Cellino was clear that he did not want to sell the centre-back.

It remains to be seen whether Leeds will stick firm to their no-sale stance over Bellusci when the transfer window swings back open this summer.

The Whites are set to finish this season stuck in mid-table in the Championship, following a campaign during which they failed to threaten the playoff places.
