Leeds United have reported an increase in season ticket sales on this time last year, as they make a positive start to what they hope will be a busy summer.

The Whites, who are again well adrift of the playoff places in the Championship this season and have an outside chance of finishing eleventh this term, have made a tempting offer to fans ahead of the 2016/17 season.

Indeed, Leeds have vowed to offer a partial refund to early season ticket purchasers if the club do not finish in at least a playoff place next term.

The Whites have now reported that nearly four times as many season tickets have been sold compared to the same period last year.

The Yorkshire giants explained that over 2,500 season tickets have been sold as of today, up from over 600 last year.

Leeds also claim that the total includes 700 new applicants.

It is still not clear who will be in charge of Leeds next season as the club have yet to make an announcement on the future of current head coach Steve Evans.

He is out of contract in the summer and president Massimo Cellino has not yet offered the Scot a deal to take the Whites into the 2016/17 campaign.
