A Juventus representative will be at Anfield tonight during Liverpool’s Europa League semi-final clash with Villarreal to weigh up the possibility of signing Christian Benteke from the English giants, according to Turin-based daily Tuttosport.

The Belgium international was signed by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s predecessor Brendan Rodgers from Aston Villa for £32.5m last summer.

Despite being such a big money signing, Benteke has struggled for game time since the German took charge of the club in October.

The 25-year-old, who picked up an injury in early April, returned to action last week as a late substitute in the 1-0 loss to Villarreal in the Europa League semi-final first leg.

With Alvaro Morata's future at the club uncertain, Juventus are eyeing a striker in the summer and it has been suggested that Benteke is on the shortlist of candidates the club are assessing.
