Lazio are interested in signing out-of-favour Chelsea striker Loic Remy in the summer, according to Italian outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

Since joining Chelsea from Queens Park Rangers in 2014, the Frenchman has struggled to hold down a place in the starting eleven at Stamford Bridge and things have not improved over the 2015/16 campaign.

He has made just three appearances from the starting eleven in the present campaign, and a recent groin injury has also not helped his cause to get more game time with the west London outfit.

Despite having more than two years left on his contract, Remy wants to leave Chelsea this summer and it has been suggested that Serie A giants Lazio are keen to take him to Italy at the end of the season.

With Antonio Conte expected to bring fresh ideas to Chelsea this summer, the club are said to be willing to sell the Frenchman, and are expected to accept an offer of around or less than €10m.

Lazio are expected to find it difficult to match Remy’s current salary of around €5m per season, but the club are keen to reach a compromise if they can convince the Frenchman that he will get certain first team football in Italy.

However, the Serie A giants could face competition from Premier League champions Leicester City, who are also said to be keen to rescue Remy from his situation at Chelsea this summer.

The Frenchman has clocked up just 615 minutes of first team football across all competitions for Chelsea this season and has notched up three goals.
