Steven Fletcher has revealed he would be happy to remain with Marseille beyond the end of the season, if the French giants wish to keep him.

The striker is on loan from Sunderland at Marseille, but his deal with the Black Cats expires in the summer, meaning he will be free to pick a new destination.

And Marseille, if they wish to sit at the negotiating table, would be an option the striker will be keen to consider as he is happy at the Stade Velodrome.

Speaking at a press conference today, Fletcher said: "This is a great club with a great history and great potential, especially with the young players.

"Regarding my future here, I haven't spoken to my agent about it. There are still some games left and then I will have a look", the striker continued.

"But I'm very happy to be here. If Marseille want to keep me then I would love to stay."

Fletcher has clocked up a total of 15 appearances with Marseille during the course of his loan spell, scoring two goals and providing his team-mates with four assists.

Marseille are having a season to forget in the French top flight and sit a lowly 13th in the table with only two Ligue 1 games remaining.
