Dominic Ball has insisted that he always knew he was going to be part of something exciting at Rangers, as he feels Mark Warburton is a top class manager.

The defender, who joined the Gers from Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan deal last summer, previously had experience of playing under Warburton whilst he was in charge of Watford’s academy.

Ball fared well for Rangers, making 30 appearances in all competition, and helped the club to win the Scottish Championship title and the Challenge Cup.

The 20-year-old also played an important role in Rangers reaching the Scottish Cup final; he will however, not feature at Hampden against Hibernian on 21st May as he is suspended for the game.

And Ball, who heaped praise on Warburton, explained that come what may, he will always love Rangers, having played the last game for the Ibrox outfit against St. Mirren in a league fixture last weekend.

“From the first call, I knew it was going to be something exciting to be a part of”, he told Rangers TV.

“I worked with Mark Warburton at Watford and you can just tell when someone is a really good manager.

“He proved that at Brentford, and getting the opportunity to come here to such a big club with such a good manager was perfect for me.

“Whatever happens now, whether I ever play here ever again or not, I will always love Rangers.”

Ball, whose present contract with Spurs is set to expire in the summer, is yet to make a senior appearance for the Premier League club.
