Divock Origi is hopeful about regaining his fitness before Liverpool’s Europa League final meeting with Sevilla on 18th May, according to Belgian daily Het Laatste Nieuws.

The striker damaged his ankle ligament during the Reds’ 4-0 win over Everton in a Premier League fixture on 20th April.

Although initially it was suggested that Origi will be out for four to six weeks, it seems the Belgium international, who did not require ankle surgery, may return to action sooner than expected and be fit in time for the clash with Sevilla at St. Jakob-Park in Basel.

Having lost the semi-final first leg 1-0 at Villarreal on 28th April, Liverpool thrashed the Spanish outfit 3-0 at Anfield last night to book their place in the final of the continental competition.

Origi has scored two Europa League goals for Liverpool, with both of those coming in the quarter-final tie against Borussia Dortmund last month, while he has scored a total of 10 goals in 32 matches for the Merseyside giants.
