Leeds United head coach Steve Evans admits that his side’s performances and results at home have not been good enough, which prevented the Whites from moving higher up the league table.

Evans’ men could finish as high as eleventh in the league table if they record a convincing win over Preston North End tomorrow, but the Leeds boss is not satisfied with what they have achieved this term.

The Scot feels for a good season it is important that a team perform consistently at home, but on the other hand Leeds are set to finish the campaign with a better record away from home than at Elland Road, regardless of tomorrow’s result at Preston.

Leeds have beaten just two of the bottom nine teams at home and Evans indicated that it is just not good enough if the Whites are harbouring hopes of breaking into the playoff spots next season.

The Leeds boss said in a press conference: “Well I think the home form always has to be good when you have a good season.

“It has to be good by our standards as some of the clubs in the Championship would be delighted where we are going to finish, whatever happens at Preston.

“But from a Leeds United point of view, it is not good enough.”

Evans will be looking to finish the season on a high with a good win away from home at Preston tomorrow.
