Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has steered the Gunners into the race for AZ Alkmaar striker Vincent Janssen.

The 21-year-old has been in sensational form in the Eredivisie this season, netting 26 goals in 33 games and attracting a number of clubs on the back of his displays.

Paris Saint-Germain are keen on Janssen, but according to Dutch daily De Telegraaf, Arsenal are now also attentive to the Dutchman's talents and Wenger is interested in the striker.

Janssen has helped to power AZ Alkmaar to fourth spot in the Eredivisie, with one game left to play, which comes this weekend against fifth placed FC Utrecht.

The 21-year-old spent time in the youth ranks at Feyenoord, before kicking off his senior professional career with second tier Dutch side Almere City.
