Hatem Ben Arfa has flown to Barcelona this morning to check out the facilities of the Catalan club, according to French sports daily L’Equipe.

The attacking midfielder, who currently plays at Nice, will be a free agent in the summer, having joined the French club on a one-and-half-year deal from Newcastle United in January 2015.

Ben Arfa has been in splendid form in the present campaign, scoring 18 times and providing five assists in 36 appearances in all competitions.

The Frenchman’s impressive displays attracted the attention of several top European clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and AC Milan.

But it seems Ben Arfa has chosen to move to Barcelona in the summer, with Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere revealing last week that the player has met the officials of the Spanish champions.
