Las Palmas have revealed that Barcelona’s current offer for Everton linked defender Mauricio Lemos is not good enough, but conceded that they will sell if they receive an ‘irresistible’ price for their man.

The 20-year-old defender joined the Spanish outfit in January on loan from Rubin Kazan and has played a major role in the club finishing 11th in the league table in their first season back in the top tier.

Las Palmas have already agreed a deal to sign the defender from Rubin Kazan for a transfer fee of €2m, but there are suggestions Lemos could be on his way out of the club in the summer.

Barcelona are interested in roping in the Uruguayan and have already made an offer of around €4m, with the figure expected to rise to around €12m depending on many variables.

However, it seems Las Palmas are not satisfied with the money on offer, and indicated that Barcelona will have to come up with something better.

Regarding Lemos’ future, an official of the club told Canarias7: “If he stays, we will be delighted.

“But if at the end if we receive an irresistible offer, we will look at the best interests of the club and the boy.

“That Barcelona is interested fills us with joy, but at the moment they are not meeting our economic expectations.”

Barcelona are also reportedly facing competition from Everton, who are ready to offer €10m for the 20-year-old defender.
