Former Borussia Dortmund forward Alexander Frei has revealed his surprise at not seeing Sevilla coach Unai Emery managing a big club such as Manchester United or Chelsea.

The former Real Sociedad midfielder has earned massive plaudits for his excellent work at Sevilla, where he led the side to two Europa League trophies in a row in the last couple of seasons.




Emery’s Sevilla have the opportunity to create history tonight when then take on Liverpool in the final of the competition, by becoming the first team to win the Europa League three times on the bounce.

Given his success in Europe with Sevilla, Frei is surprised that the Spaniard’s name doesn’t come up for discussion when some top clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea are looking for new managers.
 


The former BVB man told Tutto Mercato: “Unai for me is one of the best in Europe.

“I do not understand why he never had a chance to coach a really famous club such as Chelsea or Manchester United.”
