Bayer Leverkusen are delighted at snapping up forward Kevin Volland, who had recently been linked with Liverpool, from Hoffenheim for a fee in the region of €18m.

The 23-year-old German has signed a five-year contract with Roger Schmidt’s side, leaving Hoffenheim four years after joining them.




Volland is Die Werkself’s second signing of the summer as they have have already snapped up Mainz skipper Julian Baumgartlinger for a fee in the region of €4m

Premier League giants Liverpool were also linked with the Germany International, along with being linked with a host of Bundesliga players of late after having already signed Joel Matip from Schalke on a Bosman transfer.
 


The BayArena based club’s general manager Michael Schade told the Leverkusen's official website: "Our interest in Kevin Volland has been there for a long time, and now we've finally got him,"

"He can play practically in any position across the front line."
