Liverpool duo Christian Benteke and Divock Origi have joined Belgium’s provisional 24-man squad for the European Championship in the summer.

Origi, who returned to action from an ankle injury in Liverpool’s 3-1 loss to Sevilla in the Europa League final on Wednesday night, has been in good form since Jurgen Klopp took charge of the club in October.

The 21-year-old’s 10 goals for Liverpool which included a hat-trick against Southampton in the League Cup in December all come after Klopp’s appointment.

On the other hand, Benteke, who joined Liverpool from Aston Villa in a big-money move last summer, fell down the pecking order at Anfield under Klopp.

It has been claimed that Benteke is not suited to the German’s style of play and he could choose to quit Liverpool in the summer.
