Mario Gotze will not be in Bayern Munich's squad for tomorrow's German Cup final against Borussia Dortmund and could now have played his last game for the club as a result.

The midfielder has broken a rib and as a result has been left at the team hotel while his team-mates train ahead of the big game on Saturday.

Gotze will play no part in the final against his former club and could now have played his last game for the Bavarians given the transfer speculation surrounding him.

There is doubt over his future at Bayern Munich as his contract expires next year and the German champions have shown little sign of wanting to extend it.

Gotze is wanted at Liverpool by former Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp, however the Reds are not involved in European football next season following their defeat in the Europa League final on Wednesday evening.

Borussia Dortmund are also keen on a reunion with the player they sold to Bayern Munich in 2013, but further clubs may yet join the race for the German.

Gotze's participation in Euro 2016 is not thought to be in danger despite his rib injury.
