Chelsea reserve goalkeeper Marco Amelia has revealed that he could extend his stay in England, and is in talks with the club over a new deal.

The 34-year-old former Roma and AC Milan goalkeeper joined the club in October on a deal until the end of the season, but other than a few stints on the bench, he is yet to make an appearance for the club.




His contract expires this summer and with Thibaut Courtois and Asmir Begovic ahead of him in the pecking order, there are little hopes of getting many first team opportunities, even if he extends his stay.

However, Italian revealed that he is talks over Chelsea over a new contract, and could stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer, if a deal can be agreed.
 


In an interview with Italian radio station Radio Deejay, Amelia spoke about his future and said: “I am talking with the club to continue here.

Amelia also played for the Italian national team, and earned nine caps, but his last appearance in national colours came in June 2009.
