Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke is a contender to take over at Leeds United.

Leeds chairman Massimo Cellino is looking high and low for a new head coach, despite having Steve Evans still in place until his contract expires at the end of June.

Evans' job has already been offered to MK Dons boss Karl Robinson by Leeds, but he has knocked back the chance to take over at Elland Road.

Now Clarke has been suggested as a candidate and according to the Press Association, the 38-year-old is a contender and very much on Cellino's radar.

Clarke, who spent his playing career in the lower leagues, started his managerial career at non-league side Salisbury City in 2010.
