Ryan Giggs has been made an offer to remain at Manchester United following the departure of Louis van Gaal on Monday evening.

The Red Devils brought Van Gaal's two-year stay at Old Trafford to an end and are widely expected to name former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho as his replacement.

Giggs has worked as assistant manager to Van Gaal, but Mourinho is expected to bring in his own people, placing the Welshman's future at Manchester United in doubt.

But according to the BBC, the 42-year-old has been made an offer to remain at Old Trafford as Manchester United want him to stay.

Giggs has now gone on holiday, where he will consider the club's offer.
