Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has heaped praise on "exceptional talent" Tomas Rosicky and insists that it is sad for him to see the Czech star leave.

The Czech international, who joined the Gunners back in 2006, will be leaving the club after a ten-year long stay.

The 35-year-old's career at the Emirates has been curtailed by injury with his appearances being limited to 246 over the ten-year long period.

Praising his departing player, the Frenchman said that it has been an honour and privilege for him to have been able to manage the playmaker.

Wenger is also sad about the fact that he did not have the chance to manage him in more matches, with the player being affected by multiple injuries.

“It will always be a frustration [he didn’t play more games] because first of all Tomas was an exceptional talent”, Wenger told his club's official website.

According to Wenger, the standing ovation the former Borussia Dortmund player received in his last match stands testimony to all the contribution he has made for the club over the course of his stay.

“I personally, like we all do here, love the player. The standing ovation he gets every time he walks out there tells you a lot.

“We love the man as well, and his attitude, and his exceptional class and qualities. It's sad [that he’s leaving] but I must say, for me it was a privilege to manage him."
