England coach Roy Hodgson has claimed that he is not afraid to give young players a chance, hinting that Marcus Rashford could play at Euro 2016.

Hogdson’s men in white, who recently grabbed a 2-1 win over Turkey in a pre-Euro 2016 warm up game, had the duo of Leicester star Jamie Vardy and Tottenham striker Harry Kane on the scoresheet, making sure a Hakan Calhanoglu goal was in vain.

The Three Lions played in the absence of young Manchester United star Marcus Rashford, who was part of the Red Devils side, along with Wayne Rooney and Chris Smalling, that beat Crystal Palace 2-1 in extra time to claim the FA Cup on Saturday.

Rashford, who has been in sparkling form since breaking onto the scene at Old Trafford, has found the net seven times for the Old Trafford based side, who have now parted ways with Louis van Gaal.

The 18-year-old’s impressive performances have earned him a spot in England’s provisional squad for the upcoming Euro 2016 and Hodgson claims he is not afraid to give youngsters a chance.

The former Liverpool manager was quoted as saying by the FA: “I’m not going to have a lot of time with him but there’s no doubt that I think I made the right decision in putting him in the larger England group because the lad has got an enormous talent.

“You know from my past record that I’m not afraid to give the young players a chance.

"You also know full well that where he’s playing is where we have a lot of competition for places and he’s not going to get an awful lot of chance to stamp his authority on myself and the coaching staff.

“But I’m ruling absolutely nothing out.

"I thought his performance in the cup final was very good and I’m delighted that I will be seeing him,” he added.

“We’ll have to wait and see if we’ll be seeing more of him in the summer.”
