Barcelona technical secretary Robert Fernandez has admitted that the club will not stand in the way of forward Sandro Ramirez if he wants to leave the Camp Nou this summer.

The 20-year-old forward, who made 20 appearances for Luis Enrique’s men this season, featured only twice in 2016 after sustaining a thigh strain.

Sandro, who has come through the ranks at Barcelona’s La Masia academy, can play up front but can also be deployed on the left or on the right flank.

His lack of game time has alerted Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur, who are keen to tempt the Spaniard to White Hart Lane. They have company as Everton, Swansea, FA Cup finalists Crystal Palace and Sandro’s hometown club Las Palmas are also said to be keeping tabs on him though.

Fernandez, who is technical secretary at the Nou Camp based club, has claimed that Sandro can move on if he wishes as he stayed loyal to the club when they were under a transfer ban.

He told Barca TV: "Last summer Sandro had an offer to leave.

"He evaluated the situation we had in that moment, that we could not sign anyone and he made an effort to stay. We are very thankful for that.

"But there was a date, May 1, that we could have extended his contract another year, but after the way he has behaved, we believed it was better to open the door for him to explore other opportunities."
