Ascoli are expected to take up their option to sign Leeds United midfielder Tommaso Bianchi permanently in the summer, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Italian, who was snapped up by Leeds from Sassuolo in 2014, joined Ascoli on a loan deal until the end of the season during the winter transfer window after failing to make his mark at Elland Road.

Bianchi made 16 league appearances for Ascoli and helped the club to avoid relegation from Serie B.

The option upon which Bianchi’s move to Ascoli becoming permanent depended was the club avoiding the drop.

And as the Italian outfit have managed to achieve that, they are now poised to rope in Bianchi on a three-year deal.
