AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has confirmed that Mario Balotelli will leave the club this summer after completing his loan stint at the San Siro.

The mercurial Italian forward endured a difficult season at Liverpool and was shipped out on loan to AC Milan last summer, but the move back to Italy made very little difference to his form.

Struggling for form, a mid-season injury created further problems for the striker and by the time the 2015/16 campaign ended, Balotelli was just a bit part player at the San Siro.

And any hopes of the Rossoneri offering him a permanent deal have evaporated as Berlusconi has confirmed that the striker will be returning to his parent club Liverpool this summer.

The AC Milan president was quoted as saying by Corriere dello Sport: “Balotelli will also end his contract with us.”
