Napoli are continuing in their pursuit of Liverpool target Piotr Zielinski in the hope of winning the race for the Poland international.

The 22-year-old midfielder has been strongly tipped to make the move to Anfield to link up with Jurgen Klopp, however his agent recently admitted that a proposed switch to Liverpool could be at risk, while Roma have been sniffing around Zielinski.

But Napoli are still hoping to win the race for the Poland star, who impressed on a loan spell with Empoli in Serie A this season.

According to Sky Italia, Napoli are pushing ahead with talks aimed at taking Zielinski to the club, beating off the competition for his signature.

Zielinski is presently focused on preparing for the forthcoming European Championship in France, but Napoli may want to close a deal for the midfielder before a ball is kicked in the tournament.

Indeed, a good Euro 2016 for Zielsinki could see interest in his services surge further, making it more difficult for Napoli to win the race.

Napoli finished in second spot in Serie A this season, meaning they can offer Zielinski the chance to play in the Champions League next season, while Liverpool have no European football to offer the Pole.
