Youngster Mekhi McLeod, who recently departed Rangers, insists he is putting himself through the mill in a bid to be in shape for next season.

The Gers won the Scottish Championship title this season and as such will be back in the top flight next term, where they will look to battle Celtic for the Premiership crown.

McLeod is still in the promising youngster category, but the winger will want to put himself in the mix for a new club following his swift departure from Rangers.

The youngster is working hard to make sure he is in the shape needed to impress clubs in the market for a young winger.

He wrote on Twitter: "Gym session killing me #hardworkdoesntstop."

McLeod joined Rangers from English Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers and wasted no time in impressing Gers Under-20 boss Ian Durrant.

The coach lauded the winger's extreme pace, while dubbing him "a handful" for opposing defenders.

McLeod made his Rangers Under-20 debut in a 2-1 defeat to Falkirk earlier this year.

However, he parted ways with the club earlier this month.
