Massimo Cellino is leading Leeds United's search for a new head coach on his own, it has been claimed.

The Italian is seemingly opposed to keeping head coach Steve Evans on at Leeds and the Scot's contract with the Whites is due to run out at the end of June.

However, Cellino is having trouble attracing a replacement for Evans, despite the size of Leeds as a club. Indeed, MK Dons boss Karl Robinson has knocked back the Italian, while today Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke repeated the trick, by agreeing a new contract with the newly promoted League One club.

And according to the Press Association, Cellino is very much acting as a one-man band at Elland Road, choosing who to approach and then making the approach by himself.

The situation would appear to indicate the extent to which the Leeds chairman has taken reponsibilities onto his own shoulders at Elland Road, either trusting no one else to conduct the head coach search, or not having support from within the club to do so.
