Marc Bartra’s release clause at Barcelona has dropped to pave the way towards his exit from the Nou Camp, with Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham all linked with the defender.

A product of the famous Barcelona academy, the defender has been reduced to being a bit part player at the club in recent times and could be on his way out of the Nou Camp this summer.

And according to Catalan daily Sport, he could be available on the cheap this summer as his release clause, which stood at €40m, has been reduced to €8m because of the lack of action he saw this season.

To further complicate matters for Barcelona, the current contractual situation won’t allow Barcelona to insert a buy-back clause into the defender’s contract if he leaves the club this summer.

Bartra’s current contractual situation is due to a lack of minutes played this season and the club could lose one of their up and coming defenders this summer for a fee of €8m.

Liverpool, Tottenham and West Ham United have been linked with a move for the defender in recent days and could make a move for him in the coming months if Bartra decides to move out of the Nou Camp for more first team football next season.

He has made 103 senior appearances for the club and the 25-year-old has also earned nine international caps for Spain.

And at just €8m would be easily affordable for Premier League teams.
