Dimitri Payet has waved away transfer speculation and insisted he is happy plying his trade at West Ham United.

The attacking midfielder joined the Hammers from Marseille last summer and enjoyed a superb first campaign in the Premier League, cocking up 30 league appearances, scoring nine goals and providing his team-mates with 12 assists in the process.

Payet has been linked with a move away from West Ham, even though he is under contract with the Hammers until 2021.

But he has waved away talk of a move.

Asked at a press conference about links with Chelsea and Real Madrid, Payet was quoted as saying by French daily Le Parisien: "It is you [the media] who link me everywhere!

"I have signed a long term contract with West Ham where I am. There is a very good chance that I stay there next year."

And on whether his current form, which saw him voted into the PFA Premier League Team of the Year, is the best of his career, Payet feels last year he was also at his peak.

"Let's say that my last two years have been my best", the Frenchman said.

Payet has been included in Didier Deschamps' France squad for Euro 2016 due to his fine form at club level with West Ham.

The 29-year-old will be hoping to force his way into the starting line-up for Les Bleus during the tournament, which is being played in France.
