Manchester United have bettered Juventus' offer for Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes.

Both clubs have been keen on scooping up the Portugal international's signature this summer, though Valencia are not enthusiastic about the prospect of losing Gomes.

But the Spanish side are having their stance severely tested as Manchester United and Juventus go head to head over Gomes, who himself recently refused to be drawn into talk of a switch to Old Trafford.

Now Juventus have suffered a blow in their bid to win the race for Gomes' signature as according to Italian TV programme Qui Studio A Voi Stadio, Manchester United's offer is now superior to the Bianconeri's.

However, there is hope for Juventus as it is claimed that if they can equal Manchester United's bid then Gomes will choose a move to Italy.
