Young Celtic striker Jack Aitchison has expressed his delight after helping the Bhoys' Under-17 team to seal the league title with a comprehensive 5-0 win over Hamilton today.

Celtic were 1-0 ahead by half time as Ross McLaughlin (11th minute) struck, while they were then put into cruise control in the 54th minute as Michael Johnston doubled their lead in a game they only needed to draw to claim the championship.

Aitchison then got in on the act, hitting a superb hat-trick with goals in the 64th, 72nd and 76th minutes to seal a 5-0 victory at Celtic's Lennoxtown training base.

The young hitman was brought off in the 80th minute with his work done and quickly reflected on a memorable day which has secured participation in next season's UEFA Youth League for the Bhoys.

He wrote on Twitter: "What a day to win the league, beat Hamilton 5-0.

"Glad to score 3. Good end to the season, now time to relax."

The season has been one to remember for Aitchison, who was born in the year 2000, as he scored with his first touch on his first team debut earlier this month, as Celtic beat Motherwell 7-0.

The feat also ensured Aitchison is the youngest player ever to score a competitive goal for the club.
