Manchester United starlet Marcus Rashford has expressed his delight at having been able to sign a new contract with the club, insisting that it means everything for him and his family.

The Red Devils secured the future of one of their hottest young properties earlier today, tying him down to a four-year contract with the option of extending it by one more year.




Rashford, who enjoyed an impressive debut season for the Red Devils last term, where he scored five goals in eleven Premier League matches also setting up two more for his team-mates, insists that he is delighted to have penned the new deal with his childhood club.

Being a Manchester United fan throughout his life, the 18-year-old insists that he is privileged to have had the chance to play in the first team of the world's biggest club.
 


"I am delighted to have signed a new contract", Rashford told his club's official website.

"I have always been a Manchester United fan, so to be playing in the first team really is a dream come true.

"I am grateful for having the chance to prove myself. To be able to play football at the biggest club in the world means everything to me and my family."

Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward also spoke on the occasion, stressing the fact that Rashford is at the right club to continue with his development.

"Marcus is a naturally talented footballer with great potential. He has taken his chances well and has integrated into the first team very quickly.

"I am delighted that Marcus has signed a new contract, he is at the right club to continue his development.

"He is still very young and we need to be patient but he is developing in the right way and we believe he has a great future ahead of him."
