Leeds United say they have almost managed to hit last season's season ticket sale mark.

The Whites are offering fans who buy their season tickets early a guaranteed partial refund if the club do not at least finish in the playoff spots in the Championship in the 2016/17 campaign.

Leeds claim that they have now hit 12,000 season ticket sales, which comes close to the amount sold last year.

The deadline for Leeds' refund offer, which would give fans 25 per cent back on their net season ticket price if the Whites cannot finish in the top six, is tomorrow.

A number of fans have been unhappy with a lack of clarity on the part of the club, with no head coach confirmed for next season, no pre-season friendly fixtures arranged and no new contracts having been agreed with young talents Lewis Cook and Charlie Taylor.

Owner Massimo Cellino has also split opinion amongst fans, while his hands-on approach may have played a part in Karl Robinson and Darrell Clarke opting against taking the head coach's job at Elland Road.

Leeds are now aiming to hit over 15,000 season ticket sales by 31st July, a total which would see the club increase their refund for not reaching the playoffs to 50 per cent.
