Former Italy boss Cesare Prandelli insists Liverpool flop Mario Balotelli is not a difficult footballer to manage.

The striker, who joined Liverpool from AC Milan in 2014, managed just four goals in 28 appearances in all competitions for the Reds.

As a result, Balotelli was shipped back to AC Milan on a season-long loan deal last summer, with the Italian international enduring another disappointing campaign.

The 25-year-old scored just three times in 23 games as the Italian giants decided against keeping him at San Siro next season.

With Balotelli also not sure to feature in Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s plans, the player’s agent Mino Raiola is trying hard to move his client to Lazio, who have been heavily linked appointing Prandelli as their new manager.

And the 58-year-old, who gave Balotelli his first senior international break in 2010, explained that he has always believed in the former Inter Milan and Manchester City star’s talents.

"He's not difficult to manage", Prandelli was quoted as saying by Tutto Mercato.

"He is not a bad guy or an unmanagable footballer. I have always maintained that he has great technical potential."

Balotelli, whose present contract with Liverpool runs until 2018, has 33 caps and 13 goals for Italy to his name.
