Leeds United are unlikely to name Steve Evans' successor tomorrow despite Garry Monk having become the overwhelming bookmakers' favourite to take over at Elland Road.

The Whites opted to show Evans the door on Tuesday evening, with the Scot's contract expiring at the end of June and owner Massimo Cellino deciding he was not the right man to take the club forward; Cellino is targeting promotion next season.

Monk, out of work since being sacked by Swansea City in December, has been heavily backed to become Evans' successor, with his odds tumbling throughout the course of Tuesday.

His agent also admitted that he felt Monk would want to talk to Leeds if they were indeed interested.

And any appointment of Evans' successor may not be imminent as, according to BBC Radio Leeds, no appointment is expected on Wednesday.
