Former Manchester United goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler is set to undergo a medical at Leicester City later today ahead of his transfer to the Premier League champions from Hannover 96.

The Bundesliga outfit confirmed a few days ago that Zieler is set to leave Hannover this summer and his agents have been in talks with Leicester City about a move to the King Power Stadium.




It seems talks have progressed positively over the last few days and the German shot-stopper is set to join the Premier League champions this summer to bolster their squad.

And the transfer could take a step towards completion as according to Bild, the former Manchester United man is expected to undergo a medical with Leicester City later today ahead of his transfer.
 


Personal terms are believed to have been agreed between the club and the player, and Zieler will sign a contract with the Foxes after successfully completing the medical.

Zieler, who has earned six senior caps for Germany, has made the most of a clause in his contract and Leicester will only have to pay a fee of €3.5m to Hannover.

The German joined the Manchester United academy in 2005, but he left the club for Hannover in 2010 without making a senior appearance for the Red Devils.

The 27-year-old found success at Hannover and made 221 senior appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.
