Everton are set to do battle with French champions Paris Saint-Germain over one of Monaco's brightest young players, Irvin Cardona.

The 18-year-old's performances at youth level for Monaco have brought him to the attention of a number of sides and he only enhanced his reputation by scoring in the final of the Coupe Gambardella recently, in a 3-0 win over Lens.

The Coupe Gambardella is an Under-19s competition played within France and in which the best and brightest showcase their skills.

And Cardona could use the competition as a springboard to another club, if he wishes, as according to France Football, both Everton and PSG are keen.

The English club are in a strong position to attract Cardona, however PSG are doing their best to woo the 18-year-old striker by talking up their training facilities.
