Chelsea starlet Charly Musonda does not want to be sent on loan to Roma by the Blues and is aiming to remain at Real Betis, according to Spanish daily AS.

Musonda was loaned to Betis by Chelsea in the winter transfer window as the Blues looked to secure regular first team football for the winger in order to speed up his development.

The move paid off as the 19-year-old clocked up regular time in the tough environment of La Liga, while he was also delighted with the reception he was afforded Spain.

Borussia Dortmund and Roma have been keen to take Musonda on loan for the upcoming season, with Chelsea keen to send him to the latter as a sweetener for a potential move for Radja Nainggolan to Stamford Bridge.

But Musonda has made it clear that he wants to remain at Betis to continue his development.

The Spanish side are now hopeful that they can again have the winger on loan when next season rolls around.

Los Verdiblancos finished in tenth spot in La Liga this season and recently appointed former Chelsea midfielder Gus Poyet as their new coach.

Musonda has yet to make a senior start for Chelsea, despite starring at youth level.
