Monaco have decided not to try to keep Chelsea starlet Mario Pasalic at the club beyond this summer.

The Croatia international joined Monaco last summer on a season-long loan deal as the principality outfit agreed to loan striker Radamel Falcao to Chelsea for the campaign.

The principality side finished third in Ligue 1 this season, with Pasalic making a total of 29 appearances for the club across Ligue 1, the Champions League, the Europa League, the Coupe de France and the Coupe de la Ligue.

But having assessed their squad, Monaco have opted not to try to keep Pasalic past the expiry of his loan this summer, according to French sports daily L'Equipe.

Monaco are looking to tilt the balance of their squad over the summer to introduce more experienced players.
