A number of Southampton players will be happy to see the back of Everton bound Ronald Koeman, it has been claimed.

Everton are moving closer to appointing Koeman as Roberto Martinez's successor at Goodison Park, though they are yet to thrash out the final details of the compensation package with the Saints.

Southampton may be disappointed to lose Koeman, who has led the club to finishes of seventh and sixth in the Premier League in the last two years. However, according to BBC Radio Solent, a number of players will not be displeased Koeman is leaving.

Indeed, it has been claimed that some players in the Saints squad felt they could do no right under Koeman and would never be handed a start no matter how well they performed on the pitch.

It remains to be seen when Southampton will reach an agreement with Everton, but Koeman is now thought to be all but certain to be the new manager at Goodison Park.
