Wesley Sneijder admits that he has spoken to Jose Mourinho, but that does not mean he is about to reunite with the Portuguese tactician at Manchester United.

The Netherlands midfielder worked under Mourinho at Italian giants Inter and was a key man as the Nerazzurri won the Champions League in 2010.

He has continually been linked with reuniting with Mourinho at various points since the two parted ways and again with the Portuguese at Manchester United it has been suggested he could play under the ex-Chelsea manager again.

And Sneijder has spoken with his former boss.

He told Fanatik: "The rumours about Manchester have been in play again in the last few days.

"Yes, it is true that I have a special relationship with Mourinho, but it is not true that he wants me anyway.

"I talked to him, but that does not mean he is going to try and get me", Sneijder explained.

"I only congratulated him on his job in Manchester. I wished him success.

"But of course, you have to remember that in football anything can happen", the midfielder said, leaving the door slightly ajar on working with Mourinho again.

Sneijder joined Galatasaray from Inter in 2013 and has won two Turkish Super Lig titles and three Turkish Cups at the club.

This term however Galatasaray put in a poor performance in the Super Lig, finishing a lowly sixth in the standings.
