Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs has admitted that left-back Ricardo Rodriguez is keen to move on this summer.

Rodriguez, who has been mooted as a target for Arsenal, is keen for a new challenge and Wolfsburg are aware of the defender's desire.

Allofs was quoted as saying by Swiss daily Blick: "When we last talked it was clear: his idea is to leave us."

Rodriguez can take advantage of a release clause in his Wolfsburg contract which is active this summer and means the Wolves will be compelled to accept bids of €25m for their left-back.

The Switzerland international could make the same move as international team-mate Granit Xhaka in heading to Arsenal.

Xhaka recently swapped Borussia Monchengladbach for Arsenal when the Gunners splashed out €45m to take him to the Emirates Stadium.

Rodriguez, 23, joined Wolfsburg in 2012 from Swiss outfit FC Zurich and wasted no time in establishing himself at the Volkswagen Arena.

The full-back could further enhance his reputation this summer at Euro 2016 in France.
