Swansea forward Bafetimbi Gomis has been linked with a move to the Qatari league, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato.

The Frenchman started last season with a bang with four goals in as many league games, but his form fell apart miserably, and he scored just two more goals in the rest of the Premier League campaign.

The 30-year-old’s lack of form in front of goal has prompted speculation that Swansea might be keen to offload him this summer and Gomis has suitors in the Middle East.

It has been claimed that the forward has received an offer from an unnamed Qatari cub for a summer move to the Middle Eastern country in the coming months, and Gomis could be considering their proposal.

The Qatari clubs are known for paying their players handsomely and are more than capable of matching or even bettering his current wages at the Liberty Stadium.

He still has two years left on his contract with Swansea, but the club could be ready to sell should they receive a respectable fee for a player who turns 31 by the time the new season starts.

Gomis joined Swansea from Lyon in 2014 and has found the back of the net 17 times in 71 appearances for the Welsh club.
