Jordan Veretout is looking to leave Aston Villa this summer following the club's relegation from the Premier League, it has been claimed.

The promising midfielder joined Aston Villa last summer from French outfit Nantes and put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Villa Park club.

But following a disastrous season which saw Villa finish bottom of the Premier League and relegated to the Championship, Veretout is aiming to leave.

According to French sports daily L'Equipe, the 23-year-old does not see his future in the second tier of English football and never imagined that eventuality when he signed for the club.

Veretout has interest from the Premier League, while clubs in Spain and back in his native France are also keeping a close eye on his situation in England.
