The agent of Napoli full-back Elseid Hysaj, who has been linked with Arsenal recently, believes his client should stay at the San Paolo for at least one more season to repay president Aurelio De Laurentiis' faith.

The Albanian defender enjoyed a fine first season at Napoli, after joining them from Empoli last summer, and has come on the radar of a few clubs across Europe with his showings in Italy.

Arsenal have been one of the clubs who have been linked with a move for Hysaj this summer as they are known to be preparing contingency plans should Hector Bellerin join Barcelona this summer.

However, Mario Giuffredi, the 22-year-old’s agent, feels that his client needs to stick around at Napoli for the time being and has stressed that there is not much difference between Arsenal and the Serie A giants given the Champions League football on offer at the Azzurri.

Hysaj’s agent told Italian radio station Radio Crc: “He must stay at Napoli for at least one more season and compete in the Champions League."

When asked about Arsenal’s rumoured interest, Giuffredi said: “I consider this to be like Napoli, not better.

“Napoli have become one of the most important clubs in Europe.”

And while the agent thinks De Laurentiis' faith must be repaid, he does feel Napoli would deal for a certain sum in a year's time.

"Then, if in a year an offer of €25m to €30m comes then players are transferred.

"For now the player is happy to stay at Napoli and he brings benefits to the team.

"We do not ask anything, we are grateful to De Laurentiis and do not forget that he was the only one to believe in him, but some things need to be reviewed because his value has changed."

Hysaj made 43 appearances across all competitions for Napoli last summer and has a contract until 2020 with the club.
