Kalmar FF have confirmed they have received a number of bids for their star striker Marcus Antonsson, who has been linked with English Championship trio Aston Villa, Cardiff City and Leeds United.

Antonsson netted 12 goals in the Swedish top flight last year, form he has carried into the new season, with ten goals already for Kalmar, something which makes him the Allsvenskan's leading scorer at present.

And the Swedish club's sporting director Thomas Andersson-Borstam admits that Kalmar have received bids for their deadly marksman.

"There is continued interest. Yes, we have received an offer for him", he told 24kalmar.se.

Pressed on whether bids have come in from just one club or more than one club, the sporting director replied: "From more.

"We are in talks with a number of clubs, there is intensive work now."

Kalmar only snapped up Antonsson in December 2014, capturing the 25-year-old striker from Halmstads BK.

And Antonsson's fine performances in the 2015 season at the club earned him an improved and extended contract, which he signed in February this year, committing himself to Kalmar until 2018.

Despite Antonsson's goals, Kalmar only sit ninth in the Allsvenskan after 12 games.
