Napoli are determined not to lose Chelsea target Kalidou Koulibaly without a fight and are drawing up a new contract for the defender which would hugely boost his salary.

At present Koulibaly earns €800,000 a year at Napoli and is keen for a pay rise which reflects his status as a key player at the club.

The defender has threatened to look at a move to another club if his concerns are not addressed and Chelsea have been linked with preparing a big bid. Now Napoli are moving to make sure they keep hold of him.

Indeed, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, the southern Italian club's sporting director is drawing up a new contract offer for Koulibaly which would up his pay packet from €800,000 to €3m per year.

It could also extend his contract with the club from its current end year of 2019 until 2021.
