Fiorentina are increasingly keen to sign Emanuele Giaccherini, but Sunderland have slapped a €4m asking price on the Italy international.

Sunderland signed Giaccherini from Juventus in 2013, but the winger was sent back to Italy on loan last season with Bologna after falling out of favour at the Stadium of Light.

He turned on the style back in Serie A and has attracted a number of clubs as a result, chief amongst them Fiorentina.

According to Sky Italia, Sunderland are looking for €4m to sell Giaccherini, who has a year left on his contract, this summer.

Bologna are keen to keep Giaccherini, while Torino are also interested, but €4m is too steep a price for the pair, especially when assing in the winger's wage demands.

Indeed, Giaccherini, who has already scored at Euro 2016 with Italy this summer, is looking for €1.8m per season.

Fiorentina have not been put off by the financial implications of the deal though and are continuing to work on a deal to sign the 31-year-old from Sunderland.

The winger's agent said recently he did not feel Sunderland could ask for more than €2m for his client; the Black Cats want double.
